Junior Rangers was an outdoor youth work project based in Dalkeith, Scotland and ran during the lock-down Summer of 2020. It was hosted by the Bill Russell Woodburn Youth Project, funded by One Dalkeith and coordinated by Donna Strachan.
The project was run in partnership with the following organisations:
- Midlothian Forest School
- Newbattle Abbey College
- Newbattle Beekeepers Association
- One Dalkeith
- Made in Midlothian
- Midlothian Council.
57 young people aged 8-14 from Dalkeith attended the 10 day program and could choose two full days each. Activities included:
- Foraging and Campfire Cooking
- Beekeeping
- Litter Picking
- Den Building
- Knots and Ropes Course
- Bio Blitz
- Woodland Management
- Woodland Crafts.
